Nice simon :+1: Is there a app version?

Brilliant Simon, for me the FRZ’s are clear but NOTAM’s has always been my worry, yes Skywise gives you updates but a lot better on the map. Is this going to be tied to FPV login soon?

My phone asked me do I want to install the web app version (not a play store app) but an icon direct will do for me

It is an app.

It offers to install on your device when you go to it.

Although it offers to install from the web page, no amount of pushing the install button does anything.

Fabulous. I’ve added it to my ‘Useful resources for UK open category drone pilots’ available here, on my web site.

This is great Simon. One thing I noticed is on the NOTAMs all of them seem to show them.as being permenant rather than showing the expiry date even if they are clearly temporary.. attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean. Is this a bug or a feed issue?

Must be feed ive just checked same NOTAM which has an end date.

That’s now fixed.

Hi Simon, how do I view the map? Many thx for developing this tool.

Incredibly pleased to have this. I really like the simplicity.

There are minor wrinkles - almost inevitable for day one:

  • The coloured NFZs / NOTAM etc areas need more transparency (it’s an issue where many overlap). Problematic for London.
  • NOW FIXED It can be hard to tell which description applies to which of many overlapping areas when it’s selected. It would be good if an area could be highlighted when its description is shown.
  • NOW FIXED: The end date/time is missing from some temporary restrictions so they are listed as permanent (though having ‘temporary’ in the title description).
  • NOW FIXED: The permanent restricted areas (e.g. EGR157 - Hyde Park) are missing their descriptive text.

Hope that’s useful.

P.S. If you use it (who wouldn’t?) consider donating to Ukraine via the base app’s author’s ‘leaflet’ link on the bottom right.

Thanks @SimonDale for all the effort that has gone into this. I am still getting used to flying my drone as I dont often have the chance to. The main thing for me has been understanding all the rules and flying safely. I was worried about how I would have all this information to hand longer term and you have clearly put a lot of work in to develop this; yes there will be a few teething issues but thats the same with any app or software. Thank you!

Can I be cheeky and ask for a feature request? Would be great if we can have a location button to centre the map to current location/ and or a search feature.

Already added this morning.

Hi Simon

For your Information:

Using Android 13 the web version will load in all browsers but…

The install doesn’t work in my default browser Firefox, the option to install comes up but touching install does nothing.

Next I tried Opera with the same results.

I finally had to resort to un-disabling chrome to get the install to work and now have the app.

In all other respects a great piece of work !
