2 day delivery to NI, but i’ll be adding to hanger asap ![]()
happy flying everyone
Ooh exciting stuff - please take a few photos when it arrives!
Don’t be tempting me.. Iv not paid for my avata 2 yet ![]()
Order mine earlier should be here tomorrow ![]()
I’m happy with my Mini3 Pro apart from the signal strength which really drops of very quickly. It would be interesting to see whether having the external antennas on the remote does add a good boost to the range? If it does then I may be tempted to upgrade to a Mini 5 zpro
It is 249.9g + 4g
What on earth does that mean - and why would they not just make it 249.9g?
The info on the DJI page for the Mini 5Pro is:
The actual weight is approximately 249.9 g ± 4 g and is subject to the actual product.
That includes + or - 4g, this could be the difference in the *Plus version of the smart battery or something else…
EDIT/Addition
From the DJI notes:
16. Product weight may vary due to differences in batch materials and other factors. The actual weight is approximately 249.9 g ± 4 g and is subject to the actual product. Before flying with the Intelligent Flight Battery, check and comply with local laws and regulations to confirm whether registration or an exam is required
Looks like it may not fit in the <250 category, depending on the actual weight of materials used…
Ordered and arriving tomorrow!
Ordered and arriving Friday, if mine turns out to be slightly over 250g some fretting will occur somewhere on the drone… ![]()
Please let us all know what it’s like and if it’s worth upgrading from the MP4. I’m not jealous in anyway lol
It’s here, hot off the van, it’s supposed to have been arriving on Friday bought from here
It’s dropped in at 253g
I have the Min 4 Pro but really mainly wanted the bigger sensor…
A larger battery will be much more than 4g tolerance
I find it ludicrous that DJI would a) manufacture and b) promote a drone that is not guaranteed to be under 250g
CAA would be within their stated policy to hold the flyer and owner liable if the DJI Mini 5 Pro was over 250g and was involved in an incident that the flyer or owner was not properly trained for (e.g. held license for 250g)
If Apple can manufacture their iPhones within ±0.1 g to ±0.3 g of the listed weight, then DJI can manage to +/- 1g and focus build quality to attain 249.0g
What they have done is abdicate their responsibility to the buyer, without certainty and potentially introduced into the market a drone that is non-compliant which could result in incident claims and tighter regulation from CAA
I think it’s poor show on their part at best, and reckless behaviour at worst
Now lawful then
for under 250g category
Welcome to DroneHub @MelvilleCarrie!
Welcome back @Lex1970. Great to see you again!
Welcome back @zacmcadam !
Have you ordered a Mini 5 Pro?
Thank you ![]()
How does the Mini 5 Pro fit into the proposed new categories from next year?
Personally, If I had purchased a new drone as a <250g drone and it was NOT, I would return it and demand a full refund. However, as they have made it clear that it is not <250 they may resist!
Yup, ordered yesterday, they promised free delivered by today, but at checkout it had changed to a tenner delivery and 2 days !
