European Operator ID

This question must have been asked and answered many times before. I have a UK Operator ID and a UK Flyers ID. I have completed the European Training.

I will shortly be going to Madeira and Cyprus. Do I need a European Operator and Flyer ID. If so, because I am not resident in the EU, it would be impossible to get one.

Does anyone have any advice?

Hi Ray

Welcome to DroneHub!

Yes, to fly in the EU you must have an EU operator ID.

This thread talks through getting an EU operator ID using the French Alpha Tango system: Operator vs Flyer in Europe

Hi Ray . I registered my drone in Cyprus for few quid . Now I can fly over Europe . If it helps : the site has English version so isn’t to complicated to register . I hope this would do for you . Regards .

Do Euro OP ID’s need to be updated yearly?

Thanks Simon. I now have an Operators id which is valid for 3 years. In addition I did the Luxembourg Open tests and also have a European training certificate in case that was required. This cost nothing.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
