Drone Meet 2025

Hi everyone,
Would there be an interest in a members drone meet? I have access to land with camping facilities near me, the site is close to hotels too for the oldies like me. There’s a village within walking distance that has shops and it’s just a 10 minutes drive to the nearest ASDA and the like.
If there’s interest, I’ll get the ball rolling for next year between May and August 2025…

Sounds good idea…1 question where about in the Country are you ?

Could be entertaining…

Yeah great idea, just where i live in Northern Ireland

Near Corby in Northants…

It’s around here it’s not exact location as I’ll need to confirm it with the farmer.

Weekend camping Fri-Sun is £25.

There’s drinking water on tap and for anyone with a caravan or motorhome there’s waste disposal point.

All drones types and electric fixed-wing too are also welcome, large area to fly in, and it’s an opportunity to meet other like minded individuals.

Near enough, grandson wasn’t using it as he’d grown out of it so I borrowed it for my Google account, for ages google kept saying it can’t recognise my face and could I take a better picture…

Spoke with the farmer today and it’s a yes we can as I’ve organised other Meetups on their land.

Looks awesome and not far from me.

I work for a large insurer I won’t mention here. Let me know if you or the property owner needs help getting a quote for liability insurance.

The Meet is under third party liability that most hold already, FPV-UK. BMFA, and others I can’t remember offhand.

Sounds good. And some networking would be awesome.

Possibly a stupid question. Any electricity supply for charging drone batteries? I would have a car to charge mine but thought not everyone may have mobile chargers.

I would think if there’s a farm house we could charge the batteries there, would that be possible?

Would be handy for refreshments too.

First apologies for the late replay, I had a PC screwed up by Microsoft, tried recovery but no luck, luckily I had installed windows on a small 1T SSD. The system image I had created failed too.
:rage:

No as it’s a farmers field, only water and waste disposal…

It’s the farmers home so not practical for strangers trouping in and out his house…

As it’s camping over a weekend, having a means of charging with say a power bank would be handy…

I wonder how many charges you could get out of one of these badboys:

DJI Power 1000 - 2600W Portable Power Station – DJI Hasselblad (dji-retail.co.uk)

Or Ecoflow, word is it’s apparently better as it doesn’t need updates, it just works…

That is good feedback Lance. I’ve never used either so I can’t comment.

The Ecoflow seems a lot cheaper too. But, that is 600W vs 2600W.

The 1000W Ecoflow is £549.

The 1000W DJI Power 500 is £459.
