I drove past this church for years and always wished to video it, then the Mini 4 came along. On the day I found some poor chap had skidded on black ice, I wasn’t going to miss the morning light so filmed it with his car still there.
It’s a combination of roll and yaw, I also set the sticks to almost linear throw i.e. the Expo is about 5%. In the video there’s a delay at the very beginning of the orbit which I think at the time I’d set the Roll speed to around 2.5m/s at full roll and Yaw maximum travel. If you set the Roll rate and speed to max out against the stick gimbal travel you’ll only need tiny adjustments of Yaw to keep your chosen centre point.
It’s actually more difficult to explain in words than having a go, it stems from years of RC helicopter flying, the video is initiated by Left Roll coupled by a Right Yaw.
