Morning folks.
Just wondering what everyone is using for video editing footage. Just looking for something basic or even something free that can maybe be expanded later on to a more complete paid package if i get the bug.

I use Premiere Pro for work but Davinci Resolve provides a massively powerful free alternative! Don’t let free fool you, is basically a broadcast standard package with a few limitations which you probably won’t even notice.
@Bluelungbutter DaVinci Resolve is feature rich for the free version, worth taking the time to use it and get used to the features, you won’t regret it ![]()
I looked at Davinci Resolve but it looked SO complicated. I just wanted a simple and straightforward video editor … which I think I’ve found. It’s open source (therefore free) and is OpenShot. It can be downloaded from https://www.openshot.org/ and there is a user guide at OpenShot Video Editor | User Guide or you can download the PDF.
I’ve been playing around with it and its pretty easy to use and I’ve managed to cut, paste and fade in and out various sections. Any software that can be used without having to watch YouTube or read the manual is good in my book. Obviously the more I use it, the easier it will get, but at first looks I think it should suit my needs.
Have seen a few folk mentioning Davinci Resolve. ![]()
