Using a SD card

I started flying my drone not having a SD card inserted so i looked into getting one which i did getting the right one of course and i must admit i can really tell the diffetence in picture quality and video quality so using a SD card does make alot of difference

My new Atom 2 arrived on monday, after setting it up/updates etc,i found out that my 3 micro sd cards were to slow for recording 4k vid they are U1 what i need are U3,bloody hell they’re pricey, but needs must i suppose
Depends what drone you have and its requirements

Yes most drones take U3 and yes there expensive but looking on the buy and sell page on facebook i found someone selling them for £5 brand new so have a look on there
Or , TEMU , they sell them cheaper

The U3 is for fast recording

Good for video cameras too i have one in my video camera

Just now this very minute bought a sony 256GB off evilbay for £11,so that’ll do me,i’m not on farcebook, but thanks for the heads up :+1:

£11 is good price

Temu / Aliexpress seem to be full of fake memory cards. Be careful buying from these sources.

Hi i have done quite a bit of testing with mini sd cards using speed test software and the two clear winners are scandisk extreme pro and the lexar silver pluse.
There are a lot of cards saying that they are U3, V30 A2 but they are the bottom end or are not. drones with decent cameras need at least a U3 V30 A2 card, this will ensure you can record in full 4K
Saying that and as i said i have tested different brands i have tested less known brands at the correct spec and they failed, another mine Field mini sd cards. Spend the money and you wont get any problems, one other thing lots of the mini sd cards come with the wrong format or are formatted to the wrong format, this also has a big effect on large files that drones produce when recording.

@toolman :+1: And also buy them from a reliable source or direct from the manufacturer.

Yes exactly, very true what your saying all the cheap ones you see branded as scandisk extreme pro or lexar silver pluse are fake
Also knowing that manufacturers like DJI recommend Lexar and scandisk as tested and proven, Is why they want to copy these brands especially
