Tuning an 8 Inch

I am having some issues getting my 8" into the air. It flew great with no load on it (580g of LiPo). I have upgraded the battery to 12 Molicell P45Bs that come in at 870g and I now get takeoff runaway caused by some pretty bad oscillations.

Is anyone able to spare the time to talk through the logs?

Investigation so far:

The original oscillation is at 101Hz which makes me think it’s mechanical. Possibly the larger battery wobbling slightly on the frame…

I’m no expert, but I would look to your PIDs. You will certainly need to recalibrate them with the change in load and centre of mass.
I believe you should start with turning down your P parameter first, which should eliminate the worst of the oscillations. 100Hz is very quick though!
I presume you’ve been though some of the presets? I don’t use Betaflight, but I believe there are some presets that should get you started.

Thanks for the input.

I had a good look at the quad today and found a couple of issues, nuts on the FC being slightly loose. I’m hoping that’s a good start.

I’ve not got to the PID yet, I want to get the filters in order before I start to look at them. No point putting an offer compensated PID on naff data.
