Brian instead of hiding your light under a bushel. Why not tell us more so those of us that need the same can share Mark’s experiences on a course?
As im in Liverpool ive been using my time to show local drone users how to get the most out of their drones and if needed how to do all basic manoeuvres and pass the fpvuk practical
If anyone wants to learn a few things or maybe just get out and fly just shout out and we can arrange something
Im in Netherton Merseyside
By lee park golf club, by any chance? What courses do you run and the costs. I live in Helsby near Frodsham so you’re not a million miles away.
Netherton not netherley in bootle
Ahha, the posh part, sorry, my mistake
Sorry for the late reply
Took my CofC on Wednesday with a nice chap called Brian he explained it all with detail puts you at ease and easy to get along with I thought I was going for a flying session but came away with the CofC I was definitely made up and also looking forward to fly with him again
Excuse my ignorance, this is a genuine question: What’s the point of a certificate of competency, I already know my skill level and fly safely, so what advantage is a certificate. What percentage of attendees, fail?
FPV UK ‘Certificate of Competency: Practical’ - FPV UK
The FPV UK Certificate of Competency: Practical is a practical achievement for members who want to improve their practical know-how and flying skills. It is entirely optional and is done for the member’s own pleasure and sense of achievement – and to improve their confidence.
To achieve the certificate, the member must be able to safely and competently prepare and fly their aircraft through a number of prescribed manoeuvres.
Members can achieve the Certificate of Competency: Practical through their own individual practice, with or without help from a local mentor, followed by an assessment with an FPV UK examiner. Or they can attend a training course with an FPV UK approved training organisation.
There is no charge for the FPV UK Certificate of Competency: Practical examination from FPV UK, although your examiner may charge you for their expenses (e.g. fuel), etc and they will make this clear to you when you first contact them.
If you are not interested in doing it, that’s absolutely fine.
