Totally new to Drones! so any advice welcome, especially on DJI Mini Pro 4

Hello everyone,

I’m pleased to be part of this community and to gain valuable insights into the world of drones. I’ve recently acquired a DJI Mini Pro 4 and am eager to explore its capabilities. I’ve already obtained my Operator ID, secured insurance, and successfully passed Drone Law.

I’d greatly appreciate any tips from experienced users on how to get the best out of my drone. Looking forward to learning, improving my skills, and engaging with fellow enthusiasts!

You will be surprised by the capability of the Mini 4 Pro; it’s an amazing drone. To start, I suggest you watch some YouTube videos about its settings because the factory settings are not great. The only limitation will be you being scared of the range and speed. Try flying in Cine Normal and Sport modes and you will see the difference. Try to stay away from obstacles while you’re getting experience. You will love it. (I just noticed you posted this eight months ago) Sorry, I guess I’m now posting to an experienced drone flyer.

Are you flying a Mini 4 Pro?

Yes I have a mini 4 pro and a neo. I saw an avanta 2 being flown fpv at Castlerigg Stone Circle near Windermere and I was so impressed I want one but I don’t know if I’m brave enough. I just ordered an rc2 pro controller it should be here tomorrow.

The Avata 2 is so good. And it’s also really easy to fly.

Here is a 1.5 minute review I did when I first tried one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_pVH39UzEc

I liked the demo unit so much I bought my own!

I have a mini 4 pro, it’s a flying camera. If you want to fly, go FPV. I have used the mini for a few photographs whilst camping, hiking and climbing.

I wish I had taken more time to realise what type of flying I enjoyed and how to maximise the enjoyment before forking out for a quad.

As a photographer, I wonder how much experience you have of that side of things?
Learning to frame and sequence shots, even from YouTube, will help you make compelling videos that stand out.
The M4P is great, it will do a lot for you, but it won’t replace a trained eye. Not even the M5P can do that
