I attempted to fly my mini 4 pro indoors as I tend to do with the prop guard as I do sometimes and pressed to start for it to lift and hover. Only this time it rose straight to the ceiling. Luckily the guards did their job preventing any damage. I hadn’t played with any settings and just set it up as I normally do. I know affixing said guards turns off obstacle avoidance but it still usually just starts up and hovers at around 1.2 metres.
After I got it down I checked it over and launched again. This time it did as it should rising and stopping at the usual height!! Has anyone else ever experienced this please?

Never tried flying my mini 4 pro indoors ( no prop guards), not sure I’ll try after reading this !
Do fly my neo indoors succesfully though.

Thanks for the reply. It usually flies okay indoors, it was just a fluke i guess.

Was it low light levels, all the sensors on the mini 4 pro need light. I recently got a Neo and that sometimes behaves erraticaly indoors if the rooms darkish. Behaves fine if nice n bright .

Not really! The living room light was on as it normally is, the sensors would have been disabled I believe because of the prop guards. I wonder whether that could have caused the issue. Because once I’d got it down I repeated the process and it started and rose to 1.2 ISH metres, although I did think that it rose and stopped a bit lower than usual. Thanks again.

I have experienced a suction effect when flying within a foot or so of the ceiling - the props are pulling air down from above, and they seem to draw the drone up to the ceiling where it attaches itself until you throttle down. Scary!
