The French Rules

Thinking of taking my 4 Pro to France in a couple of weeks.

We are visiting some large gardens and though a few drone shots would be interesting.
What are the EU guidelines to using a drone please?

No, a UK drone certificate is not valid in France after Brexit; you must register as an operator in France (or another EASA country) and obtain the necessary EASA drone certificate before flying. You’ll need to register your drone on the AlphaTango platform and potentially complete online training and exams to get the appropriate certificate, which allows you to fly in all other EASA member states.

Thanks.

I will not take it then. One less thing to get lost or damaged.

As in the UK, you will need an EU OP number and an EU flyer ID. I did it online for Spain because of convenience but was a real pain with their bureaucracy. The Netherlands let’s you do it in English and all exchanges and documentation I exchanged was online via email.
Also, might not be required but strongly recommended to get insurance liability. I fly in the Canary Islands where it is particularly “on the interest of every other neighbour” that you are within all your legal parameters to have a peaceful flight.
