Say hello to my little friend - Flywoo Firefly18

I finally have a drone with a DJI unit on board.
As luck would have it the weekend weather looks pretty clear so I can try it out.
I was going to order a case for it but the entire kit with charger and accessories fits into two plastic takeaway containers :joy:

Any chance of posting links to where you bought it all please? I’m giving in to the temptation…

Of course.
Here you go:

Flywoo

I got the Firefly 18 and 4x1000mAh cells.
The connector is A30, and sadly only handful of places sell them right now, in case you wanted to make cables for an existing charger.
I bought the Flywoo charger but the Beta FPV 1s charger is supposed to work (have to check if the physical connectors are compatible but the web says they are). I wasn’t able to find a charging board at a better price.
Dig around the Flywoo website, sign up and you get the usual discount for that, but also more tiny discounts for following their socials etc.

Top tip: If you’ve got one of these takeaway containers, it’s a perfect fit.

I’d be curious to know how it works in the full DJI ecosystem.
I’ll be using it with ELRS.

You’ve triggered a thought as in will it do flips and stuff with Dji…

The other alternative is to see if there’s a Frsky RX in the shed small enough to fit, I may still have an XM+ somewhere I’ll have a look later.

You’ve puzzled me. Why would it not do that? Does the DJI put some boundaries on what you can do with FPV?
I’m not sure about the game controller shape, personally. I don’t find it great for pinching the sticks. Seems designed for thumbing. Unless you’ve got long fingers.

No limits with DJI video systems. The quad will do what you tell it to via smbus or elrs.

When you get a DJI BNF, I assume the DJI unit acts as the receiver. With ELRS, is there a separate receiver that talks to the FC and the DJI just does camera and VTX?

DJI, the controller binds to the goggles and control is sent over the video link. With ELRS, the transmitter binds to the reciever and data is sent via LoRa. In the latter, the camera system is standalone.
