Red v Yellow Restrictions On Drone Assist App

HI All. Joined the group because I am now the proud owner of a DJI Flip. Thanks for accepting me. Its my first drone and never flown any aircraft before but a keen photographer and vlogger.
Sorted out the Operator and Flyer ID plus bought DJI Care Refresh so all set to go. Been using the Drone Assist App to make sure I know where I can fly legally. Can I ask what is the difference between red and yellow marked areas please. Assume red is a no fly area but not sure on the yellows. Where I live there are a lot of sites of special scientific interests such as commons which public use for instance- living in rural Gloucestershire are these also no fly areas or does it depend please on the drone being flown. Any general advice in flying the Flip legally and avoiding and potential issues much appreciated. Many thanks for your help.

Hi @Thulagaari and welcome to drone Hub community.:waving_hand:

The DJI Flip is a good drone :+1:

The difference between red and yellow areas on drone assist is Red means a legally restricted Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) requiring permission (like airports) prisons and military installations.
Yellow indicates areas needing caution due to hazards like wildlife (SSSI) or small airfields, military land No air space restriction, but other laws (MOD) permission needed apply. Not necessarily illegal to fly but requiring awareness; Blue zones show planned temporary flights or surveys by other operators, signaling potential congestion, not prohibitions.

Just always click on a area before flying like you said to bring up the relevant information.
