Hi @SimonDale is the NOTAM covering the area bounded? If it is the area dont know about other opinions but still shade the area maybe but keep the dashed lines and times? Thanks
No, the NOTAM does not say ‘In the area bounded’. It says ‘Formation transit by Red Arrows’ and then lists their route (which we show with a dotted line). There is nothing whatsoever happening in the area between the route.
E.g. if I drew a line on a map and said I was going to fly an aeroplane from Brighton to Dartford to Dover and then back to Brighton along the coast, why would you fill in the area in the middle of my route? Nothing is happening there. The NOTAM is quite clear that the Red Arrows will fly along this line, arriving at each turn point at the advertised times.
That makes perfect sense and I think it looks great the way you have presented it. I went and read the notam then failed to interpret that it didn’t mention an area bound anyway. Oops
