Question on FRZs Flight Restriction Zones

I would like to know who, if anyone, actually polices FRZs. Yesterday I was in an FRZ, so I obviously couldn’t fly my drone. Then a passenger plane flew over so low I could see the pilot drinking his coffee (a bit of an exaggeration but you get my drift). The FRZ is zero to 2000 feet, so if it restricts drones, why doesn’t it restrict aircraft? When I asked some locals the question, they said, 'Well, planes need to get to Liverpool Airport somehow.

You can fly in an FRZ but you must have approval from air traffic control. I would assume the aeroplane did.

@ctdroneman It’s a nuclear site, nothing to do with air traffic control, but I concede they may have permission from the CAA, but if that’s the case, what’s the point of the FRZ in the first place?

I fly near Sizewell from time to time where similar restrictions apply. According to Dronemap I have to contact the person in charge of the installation via the CAA Customer Portal, something I have not done yet.

Why, I’m not too sure but I think it is linked to helicopter traffic to and from Sizewell.
