Hi, I’m really new to Drones and have a DJI Mini 5 Pro. I’d like to take pictures of a steam train over a reservoir bridge owned by Severn Trent, and can take off from a public road. Severn Trent don’t allow flights from their land but am I OK flying over the reservoir, so long as I don’t interfere with wildlife? I’m not really familiar with drone laws but Drone Assist shows it as Yellow. Cheers, Jon.

I’m not qualified to give legal advice, so please don’t take this as such, but what you’re proposing sounds legit.
Personally I would read and understand the yellow zone advice, this will probably ask you to be mindful of people or wildlife. This being the case I would make the flight but I would not fly over the railway tracks, just to be safe I would maintain a good distance & enjoy the moment.
This is not legal advice but this is how I would approach it. Enjoy ![]()

I think I’d agree with the legal risk assessments above.
From a technical point of view, I’d reduce crash risk by not flying too low over the water and spending most of your flight time actually looking at your drone rather than the screen, which is the temptation with camera drones.
Fly safe.
