Hi just bought my first drone does anyone know anywhere quiet i can practice or of any drone clubs in the Peterborough area. Thanks
Hi Benny
Welcome to the fray!
Have you got your Flyer ID and Operator ID from the CAA web site?
I’m in Market Deeping, when I come to Peterborough, I fly on the Embankment, you can also fly along the river, but not Ferry Meadows, they get upset, nene valley trust that is! Although nothing stopping you TOAL off their land and flying over it, just mind the people and the wildlife.
NOTE: I would recommend NOT flying over water until you get some practice…
What do you fly?
Hi thanks for your reply. I got my flyer id and operators id last week and iv got a chubary g9 pluto. Iv only got a communal garden so i cant fly it there and parks and other places around here are not suitable so apart from my front room iv not flown so am a complete beginer.
Hi Mate, unless the local parks are the size of a handkerchief, then it should work for you as a beginner. The first thing you need to master is take off, hover Land, all without moving in any other direction than up>down.
The key thing is to master the use of the control, getting the craft airborne and in a stable hover. then land and repeat. We learn best by doing it so it becomes more and more natural.
Then once you have mastered the take off>hover>land. Move on to basics shapes, circle, square etc at about 3 metres high, maintaining the same height, the more you practice the basics, the more your confidence and skill will increase…
I’ll send you a direct message (DM) to discuss locations
