New member from Eastbourne

Hi, new member here. Joined today. Just purchased my first drone at the tender age of 66. Have no experience other than watching many videos and a fly in my garden. Never left my garden or went above 20feet. Nervous to say the least but I assume will get better with confidence. I live in Eastbourne so if there are any drone flyers who want to pass on their advice local then I would be happy to meet up. I have the mini 5 pro. Would love to know more about the photography/video side also and how to process. Anyway I hope the weather improves so I can get out. All the best Steve

Hi Steve. Welcome. I’m an older recruit to drones. But getting out on your own into the fresh air is wonderful. I like you was very nervous but am gaining confidence all the time. A bit scary when you accidentally loose sight of your drone but make sure the return to home updates itself before you go exploring. Also set a decent height for the RTH to avoid any obstacles around where you fly. Enjoy.

I’ve had my mini 5 pro for a few months now and when I first got it,I also tried it out in my garden which is fairly small with a lot of obstructions so I too was quite nervous. As soon as I could,I went to some open space near me and it’s surprising how the nervousness dissapears when there are no obstacles in the way and within about ten minutes,I was whizzing the thing around like I’d been at it for years! I recommend looking for a bloke called Justin Bainbridge on youtube, some great tips for a mini 5 pro

Agree his videos have done a lot for me.

Thats one of the things I like about the mini 5 pro,you can set RTH to maximum height but there’s also a setting for optimum route so the drone won’t go straight to maximum wasting time and battery,in effect it hops over obstacles on the way home
