Hi there. Finally bit the bullet and bought my first drone. Mini 4 pro. I finally went for this one from the reviews and the fact it was the cheapest mini with 360° obstacle avoidance. Which doesnt really work with telepoles on sport mode but thats one for my next post. 
Hoping to pick up some tips and tricks on here .

When you put the Dji Mini 4pro into sports mode it turns off all saftey features and above all 360 obstacle avoidance.
When you are in cine mode or Normal mode make sure you it set to bypass in saftey features this way if you do encounter any obstacle in your way it will go around it. I hope you manage to get it repaired and get back flying

Yeah i had it set to bypass. The worst thing is i knew the obstacle avoidance woild be off and knew there was telepole there as its just out my back door but still managed to hit it! 
. Total noob occurance.

Obstacle avoidance doesn’t work in sports mode, that’s why is says fly with caution. If you’re a new drone flyer you should stay out of sport mode, although it’s useful for getting to somewhere quicker before switching to normal or cine mode.
