Hi everyone just got a DJI mini 2 se and wanted to see what good places there is around or near Watford, was looking at going to my local playing fields as there is massive land but on the council website it says no drone flying is allowed in any Watford park or you will be liable for a £500 fine
Not sure about that but i wouldn’t risk it, ask the police in warford first before flying, and if you havent already download the drone assist app from the app store or play store its really useful, hipe this helps a bit.

thanks for that yeh I messaged the council to see if that involves the grass areas or just the park, I have been looking and might take a trip to Nomansland in wheathampsted.

Hi, I am also in Watford and am seeking the best place to fly and practice with my DJI mini3 pro, but have also seen the councils response to flying in parks. I have been assured by members of my photographic club the Watford council do not own the airspace above the parks so you can do so as long as you take off and land outside the Park boundary. The drone assist app is not definitive of this, because for the most part it would suggest that most of the parks are ok with the exception of nature reserves, which does include parts of Cassiobury Park. It is a bit of a mine field to be honest but if you or anyone could suggest somewhere in Watford that is 100% ok to fly then I would love to know about it.
