It took off last night, using phone, and drifted straight into a strangers hair (insert your own curse word)
Then did the same the next day, but this time, straight down and right (same direction) into the River Thames. Lost all my photos and footage of the trip to London!
Oh no!
I’m really sorry to hear that @zacmcadam !!
GPS Jammers in the area?
It had been up in the air a few times beforehand as a drone and rocket with no issues. On this occasion and the night before it was on manual controls and in both times it went down to the left and couldn’t recover until it crashed. Night before was a garden, this time, a strong river !
Sorry to here of your problems with the neo, could it be you were in a high interference area as this would potentially make the drone lose position (gps) or upset its comass and basically put it in manual mode meaning you would need to be in full control to stop its drift
Update, DJI replacement for free, stating :
The incident was caused by non-manufacturing errors, however since the reason for the flyaway were conditional non-human factors, DJI is offering you a free replacement, exceptionally for this case. We are very sorry about this, but we would like to assure you that we truly appreciate your support for DJI.
For safe flights please remember that water is unsuitable for flying and that they need to pay subsequent attention to the flying environment.
I accepted if course, but fed back (short version) that the “drift down left” was identical to behaviour the night before in a garden with no water, and the issues only happened when starting in manual mode, not the quick shots.
Looking forward to the replacement, but can I trust it again? Using the controller instead of phone seems best, but diminishes the handy aspect of using the phone.
And when it did work in London, boys, the footage looked great !
Hoping for some more firmware updates!
I’m glad to hear they’re replacing it.
I feel a bit the same about my Avata 2. It lost connection last time and wandered off. I haven’t dare fly it since.
