MicroSD card spec

First attempt at captuyring some footage with my Mavic Air. I had an old Class 10 card (Sandisk Ultra) kicking about which I thought might do initially for messing about with - but the drone flatly refuses to even start a recording or save any photos to it. Is the Mavic Air that fussy about the write speed of the MicroSD card? Anyone got any recommendations for a particular type of Sandisk or Kingston (my preferred brands) card to use with the Mavic Air?

@gareth71 The Mavic Air can be quite picky with SD cards. A standard Class 10 card isn’t always enough, especially older SanDisk Ultra cards. DJI generally recommends a UHS-I U3 card (or better) with a sustained write speed capable of handling 4K video.

I’ve had good results with the SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Extreme Pro ranges. The Kingston Canvas Go! Plus is another solid option and usually works without any issues.

It might also be worth checking the card is formatted correctly in the drone, but if it’s refusing to save photos as well as video, I’d suspect the card speed or compatibility is the culprit. A 64GB or 128GB U3-rated card should sort you out nicely. :+1:
