Mega pixel camera options

Is it better to use the 12mp camera option for photos or the 48mp option ?

@Mickey Hi,:waving_hand: It all depends entirely on the lighting conditions and what you.are planning on doing with the images.

I shot always in 12mp in Raw+Jpeg on my Mini 4pro as it gives me more detail and less noise if i shot in 48mp.

Here are some examples of the differences.

Use 12MP When you are flying in low light at 12MP, the drone merges four pixels into one, allowing it to gather much more light. This results in significantly less image noise at dusk, dawn, or indoors. You want optimal flight time Processing 48MP photos drains the drone’s battery and processor faster than simply shooting in 12MP.
Posting to social media for platforms like Instagram, 12MP provides more than enough detail and keeps file sizes manageable.
Use 48MP When you have great, bright lighting conditions In full daylight, 48MP mode provides significantly more fine detail for landscapes and architecture.
Do you plan to make large prints?
If you want to print a physical copy of your aerial shot for a wall, the extra resolution ensures sharpness at larger sizes. You want room for heavy cropping,The higher resolution allows you to crop into a specific part of your photo during editing without losing too much quality.
I hope this has answered your question?:+1:
