Just back from Cyprus

Just arrived back a few days ago. I have a mountain of drone footage to sift through!

Managed to fly along the coast regularly, in the high mountain range, over reservoirs and valleys and over religious sites (I checked with the soldier holding a rifle first for this one). Might even manage to put a video together with it even. :wink:

Great experience, even better dramatic footage. Nobody batted an eyelid anywhere - those that did came over for a chat about drones. All in all, a fantastic experience with it. Going to make ā€œflying over a windmill in the UKā€ a bit less fun going forwards I think.

On to Majorca next month, hoping for more of the same :flexed_biceps:t3:

Really? Who asked you for your info? Police? Military? Other?

Iā€™ve been rejected by EASA twice so far as their form is confusing - technicalities over where I write my name believe it or not? :rofl:

Iā€™ve been told elsewhere on here, my alpha tango credentials should cover me for Majorca (because my first flight abroad was in Cyprus and I registered there also). :man_shrugging:t3:

Itā€™s all terribly confusing. Gonna get the EASA (as itā€™s free anyway) just for extra cover though.

It was a man walking past me. I have no idea who he was but I also didnā€™t know he wasnā€™t off duty.
I told him I had and could show him the email, he said thatā€™s ok and moved on.
I got my Easa through Irish IAA it was all in English and obvs still in the EU.
Just about to do A2 with them.

Definitely hard to get excited about a UK windmill after that! :joy: Hope Majorca delivers even more epic footage next month. Canā€™t wait to see what you put together! :ok_hand::fire:

It also turns out I got the biggest European Crysotile (white asbestos) mine also but only realised that when I looked at a sign we filmed on the footage last night. I thought is was just a cool viewpoint! :rofl:

Some bingo card this has been. :wink:

Think Iā€™ll have to do a specific drone YT video for it to share on here. Mostly done it for b-roll for other YT videos.

@freedoddy :joy::joy: That really is some bingo card! You couldnā€™t have planned it better ā€” thinking youā€™d found a cool viewpoint only to discover youā€™d flown over one of Europeā€™s biggest chrysotile mines! :flushed_face::joy:

Definitely think you need to put a dedicated drone video together for it. All that footage would be too good not to share! :helicopter::movie_camera::ok_hand:

Iā€™ve now tried several times to register with EASA and cannot find anywhere to obtain a flyer ID. In fact, most of the interaction with the site is logging in, re-logging in - not actually getting anywhere with it. Itā€™s a pile of dung in all honesty. Any pointers please?
