I very nearly lost my mini 4 pro yesterday. With not flying for a while because of high winds and rain, all my batteries were only half charged. Like an idiot I took off and all was well until the low battery warning and automatic return to home. The drone was over the river Mersey and started landing by its self. PANIC. I cancelled RTH and just managed to manually limp home. Lesson learnt, I’ll never do that again.

Landed with 10% to keep gps alive and went hunting. I got her back but like you took a risk I shouldn’t have.

I also learnt from a mistake, I took off at a high quarry near me whilst walking the dog, quite windy up there. I could hear my drone when I lost sight, turned around and it’s just above power lines by a pylon.
Nearly new underpants time and a quick lesson in not flying in high winds when near hazards 
Glad you got it back, the Mersey nearly claimed that one. Good reminder that RTH auto-lands when it hits critical battery, so a half charge over water is genuinely risky. Worth noting the auto-landing triggers on voltage, not just percentage, so cold weather makes it worse since voltage sags faster. Always launch on full packs and check the RTH altitude too. Cheap lesson given it could’ve been a wet expensive one.
