Hi. New member with cable query!

I’m an experienced landscape and wildlife photographer and have just taken the plunge into drone ownership.
I have a Potensic Atom 2 and have yet to fly it further than the garden!
I want to use a redundant iPad with the remote controller and have purchased a bracket to hold it. However, the usb-c to lightning remote to tablet cable supplied with the drone is too short. I bought an iPad charging cable with sufficient length but it didn’t work.
Can anyone recommend an appropriate cable or workaround for me please?

Welcome to DroneHub!

Were you able to get this sorted?

What model is the iPad?

I’m surprised a USB-C to Lightning cable doesn’t work. You would imagine those are standard.

However, if you bought a cable that is purely for charging, then it may only contain two wires, the positive and negative for power. You need to ensure that the cable is for data and has all of the wires inside it/all of the pins are connected.

You could prove this by plugging your iPad into a PC or Mac. If it is recognised as a device and you can connect to it and drag files back and forth (or whatever a Mac allows when an iPad is connected) it is a data cable. If you just get power, it is just a charging cable.

Thank you Simon. I’ll do that.

Hi. Thanks for replying.
Sorry for the delayed reply.
is the 6th generation ipad.

How did you get on?

I’m fascinated to know!

Hi Simon.
It looks like the cable I bought was for charging only. I had supposed that they were all the same.
I have ordered one that has data transfer from Amazon and it’s due tomorrow.
I’ll let you know how I get on.

Hi Louis

I’m waiting for a new cable which should sort the problem.

I’ll post a response when I find out!
