Hi From Herts/Beds Border

Drone Virgin here, bought myself a Holystone HS360S two days ago. Only flown it once (in beginner mode) due to the current weather conditions. But any tips / advise welcome. Got a flyer ID as well as the operator ID and signed up to FPVUK. Is there anyone in the Herts / Beds area that is willing to help train up a newbie.

Have a good Christmas

Hi Gavin, pretty much practise as much as you can, I would recommend going to an open field and just get used to the controls, weather is the most important thing (wind & rain) there are a few good free apps out there: drone assist and weather Radar, drone assist will tell you where you can and can’t fly (mainly near airports and prisons) and weather radar will let you know wind speed and precipitation, there’s also some good forums out there, there’s a tool good to fly, key in your drone details weight etc and where you intend to fly and it will say yay or nay happy flying bud and reach out if you have any questions,

Hi looks nice drone for the price. Just practice open space no people around want take many flights before you are confident. Keep it close set the distance in your settins to 30mtrs then gradually increase remember vlos. Then if you loos control it will only go 30mtrs away, But wind can & will blow it further. When you go high it can & will be winder so if its 5mph on ground could be 15mph 30 feet up. Look out for birds they can be inquisitive little buggers. seagulls have attacked mine. When landing be on the look out for dogs they can come out from no were. Do let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the advise. Will defiantely bare this in mind next time I fly. I live in the countryside so easy access to open space away from others right outside my front door.

Thanks for the advise. It can be quite daunting with all the rules and regulations

Hi Gavin - looks like I’m in the sameish neck of the woods as you and also a new member.
