Hi everyone newbie to flying drones

Hi all,
Just joined today, had very little flight time with cheap toy drone , photography has been a hobby for many years and have always liked the idea of ariel photography.
Currently doing my A2CoC Mainly to gain the knowlege I need to fly safe and get my head around the minefield of rules that come with it. Based on the Sussex coast with lotts of oportunities to fly safe I hope .

I’m looking to buy the DJI air3s as this suits my budget , and research tells me has a good quality cameras on board.
Am I good to fly the Air3s under artical 16 , but need the A2 for commercial use ,
and does anybody have a clue what will be the case for the A2 certification in 2026

Be gratefull for any feed back

Thanks

@DaveM56 Welcome to Drone Hub. Under Article 16 you can fly drones with a MTOM up to 25Kg. If your flying commercially you should get public liability insurance, FPVUK Membership should cover you with this Drone insurance and membership benefits - £24.99 p.a.

At present there is no new about what’s happening after 2026 but I would check out Geeksvana on Youtube excellent source of information for the UAV community.
