I’ve been lurking around the drone scene for a while trying to decide whether or not to take the plunge.
Lots of the stuff you read online is complaining about regs and negative interactions with public & officials and people declaring that they’re giving it up, which is quite off-putting.
My local council also have a blanket “No Drones” policy on all their land, which again is clearly designed to deter people from joining the hobby.
On the other hand I have found that watching the backlog of Geeksvana videos and learning the laws and even some of the less confrontational audit channels has actually given me the confidence that it is something I could actually be able to do & enjoy without too much hassle.
Since Santa has been unable to deliver on either the jetpack or lightsaber that I’ve had on my Xmas list for years now, I cut him some slack and settled for a mini 3/RC fly more combo instead.
All the memberships & registrations are now complete, just need some decent weather and I’ll be taking to the skies any day now
