Hello DroneHub from a Avata 2 owner

Hello Drone Hub,

I’m from Leed and treated myself to a DJI Avata 2 back in October and just learning all things Drones since then loving every moment of it. Trying to improve my fpv skills and cinematography skills.

Already crashed it twice (in a safe wide open field practising, I also gave DJI Refresh) first time crash my hand froze due to cold. I now use little heater things in my gloves.

Second time I was playing about with rates. I think I made them way to high started getting sensor errors and air brake stopped working.

But I’ve captured loads of lovely videos of nice scenery so far.

There’s a model aircraft club in Leeds near Middleton park called the slams, does anyone know if it’s still active? I sent them an email ages ago haven’t heard back. Would it be ok to fly there do you think?

Hi @lillie

Welcome to DroneHub!

Glad to hear you’re getting plenty of flying in. We’ve been very lucky with this big high pressure system over Christmas. (Although, it’s made it bloody cold of course!)

I’m afraid I can’t help on the club you mentioned. I know there is a model flying club near Tadcaster, but it’s a trek from Leeds I appreciate.

All the best

Simon

Welcome! My son is thinking of getting an Avata 2, I let him have a go with a couple of my rigs and showed him some footage from my DJI FPV and he was hooked on the idea immediately

I hear you on the cold fingers! I took the FPV out on Sunday and, at -4, I couldn’t fly because I couldn’t feel the sticks. Interested in those gloves with heaters you got!

Looking forward to maybe seeing some footage from your flights with the Avata 2 :slightly_smiling_face:
