Hi,
My Boxer had a crash and one of the switches snapped.
Turns out the switches are hollow - possibly so they break without damaging their mounts?
Anyway, it looks like the spares are sold as modules with fitted plugs so they should be reasonably easy.
Is this something I can attempt, as someone with reasonable screwdriver skills, and a solid track record of never blowing anything up?
Sounds like it should be fairly easy as it’s supplied as a module with prefitted cable and plug.
Have done similar on a Futaba TX succesfully.
You just haven’t been trying hard enough! lol
I’ve looked at the inside before, it doesn’t look difficult but I’ve not done it.
Good luck!
Not for lack of trying! My Cetus X cooks itself each time it’s plugged into USB and yet I’ve managed to save it just by unplugging when that frying smell starts to appear.
Is that a problem or just what that model does?
It’s a problem for that particular drone, but I imagine other tiny drones could have the same problem if they have a shroud that covers all the electronics.
On the bench I sit it on a £10 mini desk fan.
Otherwise it’s best to plug in batteries just before takeoff.
