FPV UK membership

Hi,

I’m new to this forum, and currently have a DJI mini 4

I currently hold a operator and flyer ID with CAA.
But whenever I fly my drone I’m always nervous I don’t have the correct credentials for the drone I’m flying

If I sign up with with either bronze or silver FPV UK membership, does it walk me through which credentials I need?

Will I need to also pay the CAA annually on top of the membership to keep my operator id?

Thanks

Hi welcome

Your mini 4 appears to be below 250g so I think you’re Ok. FPV membership is great as you get the insurance with it. If you’re unsure you can ask on here or contact FPV they’re very helpful and friendly . You do have to renew operator ID each year. You can do this yourself or FPV can do it for you.
Happy flying

Hi @Fkuk

Yes, we can issue you with both your CAA Operator ID and Flyer ID as a member and guide you through the process.

You need both an operator ID and flyer ID for your sub-250g drone.

All the best

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the reply, my current operator ID expires in April, I’ll be signing up for membership

Especially as I have some trips to Europe planned and I’d like to take the drone

Excellent.

Just enter your operator ID expiry date when you join and we will work it all and set it all up from that.

All the best

Quite a few of our members have reported keeping their membership card on hand (or better yet on display in its lanyard!) as it helps reassure “interested parties” who may question you when flying in a public space.
