FPV UK Map now shows flight restriction zones

In light of recent events we have worked quickly to add flight restriction zones, and other AIP data to the FPV UK Map (available in your FPV UK account).

It is somewhat rough and ready right now, but it will be finessed in the coming days and weeks.

Please feel free to check it out. We’re developing this rapidly and are very interested to get your suggestions and feedback as we go.

Where is it located?

Just saw the location  thanks!

Is there a way to remove the RPAS Corridor? It acts like a lot of noise that makes it hard to view other restrictions.

Yes - that is the top of our priority list for tomorrow

Do I have to register at the FPV UK Members site ??? Also is Coverdrone the same and good enough to use before flights ???thanks.

Yes, you need to be a member of FPV UK to have an FPV UK account and access the features therein.

Coverdrone is definitely not the same. It is an insurance company. FPV UK is the drone association. Formed in 2009, authorised and regulated by the CAA, with our Article 16 Operational Authorisation which gives more flying freedom, and we have some great partnerships that get you serious benefits. 58% off an A2 CofC, for example.

FPV UK members get:

£5m public liability insurance
Indemnifies you if you injure someone, or damage their property, with your drone.

£5m product liability insurance
Indemnifies you if you injure someone, or damage their property, with a home-built or modified product - e.g. a home-built drone.

£1m professional indemnity insurance
Indemnifies you against a claim that you did a bad job / were negligent.

International Cover
UK-based members are covered in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Norway, Switzerland and all of the 27 EU countries.

CAA Article 16 Operational Authorisation
Fly your drone with more freedom under our special CAA Article 16 Operational Authorisation.

CAA Operator ID registration and renewal service
We can issue you with a CAA Operator ID, and renew it for you when it’s due.

CAA Flyer ID issue and renewal service
We can automatically issue you with a CAA Flyer ID. You simply take our CofC: Drone Law quiz, and renew it, when it’s time to do so.
You have access to our dedicated, rapid, human support
Ask questions about the rules and regulations, or anything else drone, model aircraft, or FPV UK, related.

Access to our training and reference materials
Use our handbook, infographics, explainer videos, templates, examples and tools to elevate your understanding and make flying your drone easier and more fun.

Industry advocacy
We have had several significant successes in our 16 year history. We meet the CAA monthly, NPCC quarterly, CHIRP, DfT, NATS, etc regularly.
We have been on BBC News, ITV News, IBTimes, BBC Radio, in the Guardian, etc standing up for drone users’ rights. We have given evidence to the House of Lords and the House of Commons Select Committee on drones. We founded airproxrealitycheck which debunks bogus drone airprox reports.

Do you mean Coverdrone’s Fly Safe app?

That is just Drone Assist with some Coverdrone insurance bits bolted on. It is powered by Altitude Angel and is therefore effected by them going into administration.

You are already an FPV UK member @Robwak, you just need to press ‘FPV UK Map’ in your FPV UK account.
