Hello,
I’m a keen hobbyist and have operated Large commercial drones for 5 years with GVC (Mainly DJI M300/350 and M400)
I have alot of experience with Radio Controlled cars and use smaller DJI drones for hobby stuff.
Just learning ACRO / Manual flying with DJI Neo 2 and want to build an FPV 3 inch with DJI 04 Air pro unit.
With the 04 unit can I use DJI FPV 3 controller? And does anyone have any ideas of what I need ?
I used a Radio master TX16s for fixed wing stuff but want a smaller FPV setup to chuck in a rucksack when I head out with friends ?

Yeah, the FPV 3 RC works with the O4. You’ll need to make sure the SBUS wires are connected and then set the receiver up appropriately in Betaflight. This link has some detail.
Personally, I’d use the O4 for video and stick with ELRS for receiver and just get a smaller radio. Maybe a RM Pocket or something? But if you really want to use the DJI RC it should work.

(Also, at risk of stating the obvious, spend time in a sim using your chosen radio before you fly for real. I like Liftoff and Uncrashed, Tryp is reasonable too. Other opinions are available).

Amazing, thanks very much.

Take your time picking a controller. There are options, remember you don’t need a DJI controller to run DJI video. Aldi, you don’t need to run DJI video
