All this fascinating talk has made me wonder what size of drone could carry a payload of 600g - 1kg (Sony A7Riii and lightweight lens)? Because that would be a great landscape setup imho.

I’ve have used this function often on different drones and I have done this manually as well. You are right though as the drone can move. So the program will struggle to aligne the pictures. Still I’ve had more successes than failures so I always take a few AEB just incase the drone does move to much. Have a look and I think you will be surprised. I use lightroom to do my HDR and it normally does a good job.
