Flying today after winter

Oh wow it was windy in Farnham (common) park today. Couldn’t even fly in a straight line. The flight was intended to be a warm up after having not flown for most of the winter. Pretty much gave up after 2 batteries. Shame really as it was a lovely sunny clear day.
On another note I thought I’d try out some accessories. I fitted ski feet to help with take off & landing on grass. All was well with the feet and I’ll def use them again.
However , the propeller guards were ok, but It added far too much weight to the mini 4 pro. They would work very well but not sure if it was the wind or the propeller guards that were affecting my flight.

I can’t see the point prop guards on any mini series, you shouldn’t be flying that close to obstacles in the first place.

Yep I agree. You’re absolutely correct. Also the mini 4 pro has optical avoidance. But I as a say I was just trying out other things and options. But the ski feet were fantastic as my practice ground is my local park which is 320 acres. And the good thing is they actively encourage drone flying.
But I’m always up for trying new things and experimenting. My next experiment is the train from cookham to bourne end.

The mini 4 pro has 360° obstacle avoidance, make sure it’s on bypass and you will be fine.

Yep. I’m a big fan of the obstacle avoidance especially with my sausage fingers. But was given the prop guards to try. Won’t be using them again. As far as I’m concerned they are a gimmick.
