Shared experiences of recreational flying in Germany, Austria, Italy. I have French documentation (Operator and Flyer) but each country seems to impose additional restrictions and complexities. My original intention was to capture short clips oner the sea, beaches, mountains on an up coming holiday but now I’m starting to think it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth.
My rule of thumb is: stay away from populated areas and enjoy the countryside, mountains and beaches. If there’s no one around to object, you should be ok but you need to use common sense.

Thanks.
Just keep away from airports (obviously) but also nature areas re nesting, eggs, don’t spook the wildlife.
A famous youtuber always emphasises that you should be doing a mental risk assessment, if someone objects it’s easier to land and go further round the coast and start again, and that the police are not waiting behind bushes to jump out on you to catch you out.
Remember that this is a hobby for very many people and the idea is to be safe and have fun.
Most European countries have very very similar rules, but in archaeological places EG Italy Greece etc there will be more restrictions and I seem to remember Hungary too… A quick Google can find out if the law requires you to have insurance as well.
Good luck , read a little more , and most of all enjoy the hobby.
Many thanks for the feedback. It’s appreciated.
