As an FPV UK member you are insured to fly in Cyprus, as it is within the policy area that covers the UK, the 27 EU countries, Norway and Switzerland. Please make sure you carry proof of your FPV UK membership and insurance with you when you fly.
To fly legally in Cyprus and the rest of Europe you will also need an EU Operator ID and Flyer ID. We recommend registering via the French Alpha Tango system because it is free. You can find a step‑by‑step guide here: Uk resident registering for an operator id in Europe - #9 by SimonDale. Once you have your EU Operator ID, you can use it to fly in Cyprus and any other EU country you visit.
For checking where you can and cannot fly, there is no single app for Europe. Each country uses its own tools and maps, and these can change. The best approach is to follow the local Cyprus rules and any official airspace or no‑fly‑zone maps provided by the Cyprus authorities or reputable local sources, and always double‑check restrictions around airports, national parks and other sensitive areas before you fly.
