Hi Guys, new member/drone flyer here. I’m an all around videographer/photographer and finally got myself a drone. I’ve got the DJI Mini 4 Pro. Got all my UK license etc sorted.
My question is, in June I am going on a trip to Albania, it’s not work, just a personal trip, I’m just trying to work out what if anything I need to do pilot license/operator ID wise for Albania. I’ve done some research and as far as I can tell, flying in EU countries you need an operator ID/Pilot license from your home member EASA state, obviously with Brexit and the UK not being in the EU anymore, how does this work? I am correct in saying that if I was to get my a license/operator ID from the Irish Aviation Authority, that would cover me? I have messaged the Albanian Aviation Authority and they said that they use the same regulations as the EU.
" Drone operations in Albania are regulated under the same legal frame as in EU.
The EU No. nr. 2019/945 and EU No.2020/639 Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/639 of 12 May 2020 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32020R0639], as transposed and incorporated into Albanian legislation.
In general, if your drone weight falls into “open” category, then you should apply the operational restrictions contained at Table 1 - Open Category - Civil Drones |EASA [https://www.easa.europa.eu/en/domains/civil-]"
So I’m assuming and Irish license would do? Also am I correct in saying that compared to the UK cost of £11, it’s 30 euro for the ID and 40 euro for the proof of training?
Many thanks,
Lewis
