This is a big disappointment DJI have made this a useless drone for cinematic use with this stupid DT module and no longer a pocket drone thanks to it’s stupid DT module, they really didnt seem to know what the Neo was used for, you can’t get cinematic video using a phone as you can’t see the video feed through your hands, and you can’t travel with it easily in your pocket if you want to get good video using the controller as the modules antennas are sticking out all the time, you can’t remove antennas from the module they are fixed, so you have to remove the module and carry the controller, drone, module and screwdriver in your pockets for a decent cinematic use, the flip is a much better option, you can buy that referbished with a controller for £295, if you don’t need the controller then you can sell that £100, making the flip only £195, cheaper than a Neo2 and you get a better camera and longer flight time, plus the Neo 2 has no remote ID so in 2028 if you want to keep using it you will need to buy a remote ID module to stick on, I am seriously considering the flip, or waiting for the Neo 3

First question if anybody knows yet…Do the Neo 1 Batteries fit the Neo 2 ??? Thanks

Interesting points. I wonder why it doesn’t do Remote ID?

I imagine it is because that is not required in UK1 for the moment. And that when it becomes a requirement of that class, it will start working.

Perhaps it is a bit like the Mini 5 Pro won’t transmit remote ID with the standard battery, but if you add the bigger battery it knows that that takes you over 250g, so it starts transmitting remote ID.

What does the digital link thing actually do? Is it not a radio control drone without that? (I had better do some Googling).

So, does it have WiFi on board as standard? And you can therefore control it from your phone?

But if you want a controller or goggles you have to add this Digital Transmission Module?

Also, welcome to DroneHub @russchipp1 it’s great to have you with us!

T3 says: The Neo 2’s redesigned battery locks in more securely and supports faster charging, roughly 40 minutes for a full top-up via USB-C, versus about 50 minutes on the Neo.

Which sounds like a no. The batteries are new.

Yes, as a stand alone drone its phone only, you have to buy the DT toy use any other controller, but really this is not a Neo 2 its just a Neo pro

Wanted to like this, but my neo is smaller with the same camera, and the videos at night in Greece were awful. AI might be better, with the 2_axus, but no, not for me. Too big, not enough improvements where I needed them - eg battery life is no big deal,

I got it 2 days ago, will be testing out on my next visit to outdoors
