Firstly, apologies for the lack of posts, I have been very busy at work.
I have noticed quite a few people have their controller set up with the left joysick being used for altitude (up and down) and the right joystick used for forward and backward movement…
Am I missing a trick, as I have mine the other way round.

It’s optional, sticks can be set up either way round. It’s your choice
Mode 1 right stick, motor(s) power, sometimes noted as M1
Mode 2 left stick M2
This convention pre dates drones and goes back to radio control planes with different parts of the world favouring different stick modes.

I set mine up like I’m playing Xbox, left is for movement, right is for turning and in this case also altitude ![]()
That would explain my choice of controller setup. Many a weekend playing Gran Torismo on the XBox.

Having my flying origins in RC planes and heli’s before coming to drones. I fly mode 2 throttle (vertical) on the left stick as it’s the most common mode amongst RC flyers in the UK.
