Camera Replacement - Ares Advantage Ethos HD

Hello all. I have recently acquired a cheap-n-cheerful Ares Advantage Ethos HD.
All works OK but the camera does not have live transmit function, just a micro SD card for viewing obtained video & photos after the drone has landed.
Does anyone know of a suitable camera with live TX and also (preferably) a micro SD card slot for saving the video to?
As you can probably tell, I am totally new to this hobby !!

Hi Stephen, welcome to drone hub!

I hate to be ā€œthat guyā€ but, looking up that drone, it looks like it was little more than a toy, and is no longer manufactured.

Iā€™m assuming that, since you didnā€™t get the FPV version they apparently offered (and which still seems rather toy-like) youā€™re wanting cinematic shots. On that basis, Iā€™d recommend you chalk that one up to experience (hopefully you didnā€™t pay to much for it) and, if you want to get some good footage while also having a nice live view, just get one of the DJI mini drones with one of the transmitters with live video link.

Thatā€™s just my 2c worth though, Iā€™m sure others will be along with alternative opinions soon :slightly_smiling_face:

Iā€™ve seen the price of the DJIā€™s and they are well outside my budget for something that is essentially just being used as a toy!
IIRC I paid Ā£8 for the drone and if I can get a cheap HD camera for under Ā£20 then I will be a very happy person!

Steve, where are you based? general area is close enough.

I have a cheap drone I purchased as a trainer when I first started last year. If, youā€™re anywhere near Peterborough you can have it! Iā€™ll even show you how to download the app and connect it to the drone.

All I ask is that you are correctly registered with User ID etc.

Itā€™s small light and has a camera.

Many thanks for your kind offer, but I am based inHorwich, near Bolton, so itā€™s a bit far. Yes, I do have Flyer and Operator ID.
