Before I fly any off my two Drones in a recreational area I do the following:
- Check that no walking public and buildings are near you if however, there are lots of people about, I don’t fly at all.
- Do a risk assessment of the area you wish to fly in.
- Mark an area out on the field of 50m to 100m in a circle using orange marker cone’s, place your take-off and landing pad in the middle and two sign boards marked caution REMOTE AIRCRAFT IN OPERATION.
- Do a safety check of your drone and equipment for flight before you fly.
- Now you need to log your flight with the Done Assist App this will notify other drone flyers in the area that you are flying at this location.
- See in this photo how I have placed the cones and sign boards also the landing pad out. No members of the public should enter the circle area or even talk to the pilot if the drone is in the air.

Interesting.
Does it work? Do people stay out of your circle?

I just check there are no restrictions on dronescene and fly.
That’s all a bit overkill.

But Safe, managing risk is important.

That’s a nice circle though! I think mine would have ended up square

This is a great idea!
I used to have a Mavic 2 Pro, but sold that when it got more challenging to fly in the UK with the increased regulations.
I’ve just bought a DJI Neo which I love and my Mavic Mini 4 Pro arrives on Tuesday.
The smaller drones feel less intimidating to others and myself!
no one has asked any of the obvious, where do you buy all that kit?
A square Circle…WOW. Will have to try that
Wow, I have a mini “landing pad” but that’s it. Mostly to keep it off the grass/mud.
I have used cones before, but that was because the clients risk assessment required it
