Treated myself to one today for a trip to Carribean needed a lighter done than the Mavick.
Welcome to Drone Hub
You wanted to know what take off or landing gear would some recommend. I currently use a landing pad which i purchased from Amazon here is the link SYMIK LP500 Drone Landing Pad 20 inch (50cm) Double-Sided Waterproof (2x3 fold) Fast-Fold Helipad for DJI Mini 5 Pro/Mini 4/3 Pro, Air 3S, Neo, Avata 2, Mini 4K, Mavic Mini 2/SE, Air 3,Air 2S : Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games
@maca2003 welcome to DroneHub! It’s great to have you with us.
+1 for a landing pad also reduces dust n grit being blown up into motors etc.
Add on landing gear isnt really needed and could put you over the weight limit.
One I use, the larger 75cm one
Comes with a carry bag and pegs for under a tenner !
Much obliged gents never thought about a landing pad, although I do use a square bit of ply for my Mavick just not very transportable.
Welcome to the hub. I’m not here as often as I would like but I also do own a mini 4 pro and have both the landing pad and landing gear from Startrc which are brilliant. Word of warning though, the landing gear might take you just over 249g. I haven’t actually weighed mine but I always obey the rules as per my flyer ID. Hope you have a great trip. ![]()
Edit: I just noticed how late I am to the party!! lol. Anyhoo, hope you had a great trip.
@maca2003 I hand launch my Mini 5 Pro quite regularly, especially when the ground is uneven, muddy, or covered in long grass. As long as you’re careful and let the drone establish a stable hover before moving away, it’s a handy technique to have. Just keep fingers well clear of the props and make sure you’re comfortable with the process before doing it routinely. ![]()

Why not hand launch in poor ground conditions? It’s a useful skill to have and pretty simple. It had the major advantages of not adding weight to your drone or to your rucksack and it is free.
Sorry @Gilbert , I didn’t read your post before I wrote mine. Now I feel like I stole your concept.
