I was going to consider this with being new. Want to do as much research, courses, certs as I can to give me a good foundation and better understanding.

Personally I Havnt yet.. I’m so new to the hobby that I kinda just want to get used to getting out and using the drones first.. besides other than my avata 2 I don’t really need it yet..

just took the A2 today and passed with UAVHUB, highly recommend their course I did it at my own pace and the exam was straightforward after downloading the software and i got a 96% pass UAVHUB sent my qualification over a few hours later. are you thinking of taking the course and exam?

I did mine with Coptrz, it’s worth signing up to FPVUK, pay for the year and then use their 50% discount on the course on the FPVUK store! Still save money and get insurance and an Article 16 Exemption too - no brainer!

Hey Luke, thanks for the info, and welcome to DroneHub!

Hi @Luke

Welcome to DroneHub and thanks for joining FPV UK.

Did mine a few years ago after picking up a UAVHub course on a deal. Honestly I think I’d built it up into something bigger than it is, taking the exam I was incredibly nervous but it’s literally common sense with a little memorisation.

UAVHub were great though so recommend them as a supplier.

I don’t need the A2CofC especially as I only really fly my drones either in the middle of nowhere these days or sub 250g but having had the usual “You can’t fly that here!” (From a trespasser in a farmer’s field [I had permission to be in, they did not] no less).

It is handy having a folder in my bag including a print out of my A2 Cert, my FPVUK membership and a risk assessment form (takes 2 mins to fill out in the car before I take off).

For ÂŁ50 just do it

The FPVUK Membership card has warded off “interested citizens” a few times!
