A Winter Project

This old girl has sat in the hanger for 30 years it’s a Chris Foss Wot4 Foam-E. It’s got chunks cut out of it from when I converted it to FPV, It flew brilliantly and still does having flown it a couple of weeks ago after 30 years. I kited it out with Frsky RX6R RX to test and learn my new Frsky X20 Pro TX.

Excuse the messy desk in the office, I’m in trouble as I’m always messing hers cos I’ve no room on mine and it’s too cold in the shed…

I couldn’t get it to balance, so ended up designing a C.G Jig…

So the other day this arrived and it’s now going to convert to FPV…

Although it’s meant for 3 cell. I’m chucking in a 4 cell, I need to work out where to instal a Dji Lite Air Unit. I’ve got a Frsky S6R Dual Band RX which is stabilised and although the RX has both 2.4G and 895MhZ, I’ll be flying short range at the club.

I’ve spent a few days working-out how I’d fit the RX and eventually came up with the only option which is to print mount a new floor in such a way that the RX will remain spirit level with the XY axis. The level was archived with a couple of small spirit levels.

The 895MhZ mount

I’ve finalised the antenna mount design, and will be cutting the wings’ trailing edge around it.

This something that I would love to try .I have just finished my model farm after working on for three and half years

Pictures Please…

So that’s the antenna mounted, But having glued up, it occurred to me that PLA-Carbon may shield the antenna?

I just need to cut the canopy for power to the 04 lite…
