Seadevil

Seadevil

Simon, but known as Seadevil for many years, based on Dr Who and the Seadevils, as I wore my hair as a mullett in my youth lol. Raised in South Wales, and played drums for many years, have worked everywhere, well travelled also. I have a passion/hobby in mountain biking, cycling, and have purchased many over the years, then modded them, and resold for a profit. Bikes is my thing, it’s what I know since the early 1980s. I previously owned door security licences, and had basic training in close protection also, theory/practical.
For the past ten years I got more interested in photography, and of late been lucky enough to have worked with many international artists as well as within the UK. Mainly reggae concerts, and various gigs if any comes up? Reggae based on my Christian upbringing, and being a church drummer for 20yrs, and love the overlap of gospel/reggae. I do work with specific artists also when on tour playing the UK. There are many talented singers out there that will never be recognised. I also have worked as a TV Supporting Artist and been featured on many TV programmes as an extra. The latest snippet will be coming up on a Tom Hardy film ‘Havoc’, the biggest film made in Wales to date. Keep your eyes peeled, you may see me?
I love travel, have visited Jamaica, Canary Islands, West/North Africa, Greece and Turkey also.
My partner of 5yrs is Julie who is a classroom assistant in a busy local school, who is also interested in photography, cycling and travel, so works out really well for both of us.
Drone wise I had a Mavic2, now just gone up to a Mavic 3 Pro, with 5x batteries and 6x filter lenses. Seeing all the drone changes, rules, regulations, don’t think I will go above 249g until things settle down with CAA and what the UK standard will be. A heavier drone would be perfect and stable for a breezy photography shoot, but still excited enough to stay at the level I’m at.
Currently, I run, with Julie a local Facebook page I created in 2019 when Co Vid hit us, just using the page as a lifeline for older people to communicate with, whilst locked indoors under the pandemic. Now, I create pics, photoshoots, drone pics and vids, snippets of local news and story’s also, and it’s going well, with 1350 members. We steer clear of politics and religion as we all differ, and as a group, worked out almost like a community family…
Looking forward, I have just applied for my HCAA certificate, to fly in Europe. And maybe looking at a trip to Greece or Turkey regions soon.
Any topics, rules and regulations would be a massive asset to many of us.

All the best,
Simon and Julie.
