Low speed fine control training

Out yesterday practicing and found that using the downwash, flying half a meter off the ground, it was good fine control practice to blow the seeds off individual dandelion heads. Could also shepherd a tennis ball around with the downwash on a flat enough surface. It can be challenging with a bit of wind, as the downwash isnt always directly below the aircraft.
Antone else tried similar?

What drone were you using? No, I’ve not tried it, I can’t see the point really. Perhaps you could explain more?

Explain more of what? Its a simple practice exercise.

Haha the point?? I hope there never comes a time when there has to be a point in owning and flying a drone, if there does I have some serious explaining to do.

Same.
I put it out there as a - dare I say it - fun way to practice fine positional control. No ‘point’ as such, just a slightly out of the box training exercise. I am going to try a tennis ball on flat tarmac sometime. God forbid we do something different! might get extra enjoyment out of the hobby.

Haha nice! I’ve been spending a fair bit of time doing proximity practice drills lately and a thing I’ve found fun is flying low enough to take the tops off weeds with the props.

Only downside is I fly props-in so keep getting seeds and bits of plant stuck to the camera

Fancy doing all the weeds in my lawn?!

How big’s your lawn? It’s not exactly a precise science so we need space to speed up and go around for another go

This is sweet! I’ll have to go back through some of my videos and find some near misses.

Each to their own, personally, I never have enough battery life for
