Hi :-). Just been given an unwanted drone by a neighbour, so thought I’d better do things right!
DJI Mavic Air - no idea how old it is, but to be honest it looks like it’s never been used. Got myself a flyer ID and operator ID, and joined FPV UK for the insurance. Haven’t had a chance to try a flight yet - been a bit windy here the last few days, don’t fancy sending it up for the first time in the wind!

Follow-up question, so maybe not worth posting as a separate thread… I’m aware that Mavic Air is a legacy drone, and being as heavy as it is it can ordinarily be flown only under open category A3. But my FPV UK membership allows me to fly under the Article 16 authorisation regardless of whether or not my drone is a legacy one - correct?

Sounds like you’ve done everything right so far—Flyer ID, Operator ID, and FPV UK membership all sorted before the first flight. Great start!
The Mavic Air is still a capable little drone and, if it’s barely been used, you’ve done well there. Waiting for a calm day for your first flight is definitely the right call. Find a nice open area, take it steady, and get comfortable with the controls before venturing too far.
Enjoy that first flight when the weather plays ball, and don’t be afraid to ask questions—there’s plenty of knowledge and experience here to help. Happy flying! 
@gareth71 That’s my understanding too.
As an FPV UK member, you can make use of the Article 16 Authorisation when flying recreationally, which provides operating permissions outside of the standard Open Category rules. So even though the Mavic Air is a legacy drone and would normally fall under A3 in the Open Category, Article 16 can offer more flexibility.
That said, it’s always worth reading through the FPV UK Article 16 guidance carefully so you’re familiar with the conditions and separation distances that still apply. Once you’ve got your head around those, you’ll likely find Article 16 is a very useful benefit of membership.
Hopefully one of the FPV UK experts on here can confirm the specifics, but I believe you’re on the right track.

Well done, good luck on your first flights. Worth just doing some control flights first getting use to the controls keeping it low and getting a feel for manoeuvres and you dont know if theres any faults so low drop less damage.
